The figure you may see in our advertising
Based on historic settled PCP cases handled by one of our panel solicitors, the average customer refund per agreement is:
£1,996.50 per agreement
This figure is provided to help you understand the typical scale of refunds in this dataset. It is not a guarantee of what you will receive.
Financial Claims Helpline Ltd is an FCA-authorised claims management company and you can verify our status on the FCA Register.
FCA rules require claims management company communications and financial promotions to be fair, clear and not misleading.
We work with a panel of solicitors for legal representation:
Important: The figures on this page are calculated only from settled PCP cases handled by Consumer Rights Solicitors Ltd, because they are the only panel solicitor who has provided settled-outcome data for this calculation at the time of publication.
RH Law Ltd (t/a Locksley Law Solicitors) remains on our panel; however, we have not received settlement outcome data from them for inclusion in these averages, so their cases (if any) are not included.
When we say “average refund per agreement”, we mean the amount paid to the customer as part of the settlement outcome.
This figure excludes:
We do not publish case-by-case raw data because it can contain confidential case details. Instead, we publish the totals and summary statistics used to calculate the advertising figure.
We use a simple mean average:
Average refund per agreement = Total refunds paid to customers ÷ Number of settled agreements/cases
Using the dataset described above:
✅ Average refund per agreement (customer refund only): £1,996.50
Refunds vary depending on the facts of the agreement and the circumstances of the case. This average does not mean everyone receives £1,996.50.
To show the spread of outcomes in this dataset:
The FCA has published an industry-wide estimate in relation to its proposed motor finance redress scheme, stating:
“Consumers would receive an average of around £700 per agreement.”
That FCA estimate relates to an industry-wide scheme proposal (different methodology and population) and is provided here for context.
Our figure is based on historic settled cases handled by one of our panel solicitors and is not a prediction or guarantee of what any individual customer will receive.
